New Author - Major changes

 I got my book back from my editor and I am going through all the editing suggestions.  Spot on changes just so you know.  So he says to me.  Why not change the title to convey the character Alexei's love for his Angel and her nationality to have her apart of the title.   So I have decided to take this advice and rename my book,  My American Angel... 

More suggestion to add information to two parts of the book to be more clear about the tension of the moment.  And of course my brain spins and I think of more to add to the story.  

Can I say, that this whole process is very exciting!  I loved writing my book and now going all through the processes to get it published is enlightening.  I know that I am going to make mistakes. But its best to make them now and learn as you go along and get better. 

So,  My American Angel  that is my story now.  

Editing updates

 Got my first draft from the editor.  He has some great recommendations.  It is great to get another perspective of your book.  I have read it so many times and it lives in my head so when there is something not quite right, you may miss it.  Like the spelling of kitchen!!  I spelled it incorrectly twice.  dunce!   but my editor made some great recommendations that I am working on to make my book even better.  Then I have to format it.  Why do I understand quantum mechanics better than formatting?  But thats the process!  

First draft - editing

 I just got my first draft back from the editor.  He said that the book was good.  The story and the characters were good.  He encouraged me to keep writing.  Now, I can't tell you how excited I am.  Someone other than my friends like my book.  Just wow.  I want to run into the street and shout YEAHHHHHHHHHH.... but I live in NY and someone will definitely run me over.  splat..... 

I will look at the edits and suggestions and get those done as soon as possible. 

So anyone else, while your book is being edited and or getting ready for publication think:  Oh wait.. .can I add this to the book?  Can I change this... should I change that... can I add more depth to this..... and also at the same time think.,... ohhh book two.... lets get started on that one... and then book three through eight are screaming in your head?  

No wonder I am so forgetful... there is too much going on in there!!  :) 

Now, to get a graphic designer for the cover... thats next.  

New Author - Part 7

 I sent my book to my editor.  How exciting and stressful.  I did get a note back from him telling me that he read through my book and he said it was good.  Thats a step in the right direction.  Now I have to get a designer for the book cover.  Ohhh what to do.... I can picture it in my head.  I hope that I can relay that to the designer.  

Now onto the next book.  I thought I was going to start with Sara and Christopher but you know what..... Dario and Maria are calling to me.  So I go where I am called.  I have a lot of their story in my head and now I have to get it down in print.  

I would like my second book to take a little less time than my first.  Alexei and Angela took almost a year.  But I am going with momentum.  I know what I want to do, I know what I want to say, I know how I want to tell Dario and Maria's story.  I think that the process the second time will be a bit better.... easier?  faster?  We shall see.  I am a notorious procrastinator.  My biggest fault.  

After Dario and Maria - I feel April and Daisy (sisters) stories calling to me.  I do want to do Sara and Christopher because the next book will be Vanessa and Tav.  Now their story is exciting to me.  This one I can't wait to get out.

First Draft to the Editor

 I will be sending my first draft to an editor today.  Very excited about this step.  Its making it seem more real.  Do I have to copyright my work?  Things I have to learn.  I see the copyright paragraph in the first pages of other books...... have to look into this.  

Have someone available to edit my book.  After that, I will get the designer for the cover.  Exciting!

And so it begins.  I am starting to promote my book.  This is going to be the most difficult part of this process.  Self promotion.  thats the hard part.

 And so it begins.  I am starting to promote my book.  This is going to be the most difficult part of this process.  Self promotion. 

My first book, The Russians Angel -  Angela and Alexei. 

For the first time in her life, Angela is taking a well deserved vacation.  Putting papers in a jar with all the places in the world that she would like to visit - the fates chose St. Petersburg, Russia. 

Alexei, Bratva, working to bring his family and four other Bratva families into legitimacy. But now someone is sabotaging his businesses and the businesses of the other Bratva members.  Someone wants to start a war.  Alexei needs to stop it.  

In an assassination attempt, Angela saves his life.  This stranger put her life on the line to save him.  He was grateful and he decided to keep this beautiful stranger... just to keep her safe.  This is what he told himself.  

Can he keep her safe?  Can he stop a war?  Can he let her go?  

New Author - Part 3

 I have officially completed my first book.  I am very excited about this.  I have an editor lined up to edit my book.  Then I have to get a graphic designer to do the cover.  Then I can submit it to Kindle Publishing.  

Next - is the hard part.  How does an introverted person go out and promote themselves and their book?  Its hard enough to get through each day but to put myself out there.... so intimidating.  But I have to try.  

In addition, I have already started my second and third book.  I have scenes from the other books too.  

This is a very exciting time of my life.
