Books I've read and the Authors I love!

Ohhhh, I do love to read.

It started when I was just in high school.  During summer vacation, I had the nerve to say to my mother, as she was getting ready for work, I'm bored.

She picked up a Barbara Cartland romance book and shoved it at me - Here, read this!

I was hooked.  I read through her whole Barbara Cartland stash. They were romantic wholesome romances.  I loved each and every one of them.

Then I found Harlequin Romances. SWOON!!  They were fabulous!  I had my favorite authors: Janet Dailey, Anne Mather, Lyndsay Stevens... etc.  Almost every penny I had I would buy new books and keep them.  They were precious to me.

I just never had enough room to keep all the books I had and wanted.

Now I have Kindle.  While I understand that people love their physical books, I do love my kindle because I can have as many books as I want and I don't need a separate room for all of them.

Now today with the internet and tik tok, facebook, yahoo et al, I can personally interact with my most favorite authors.  So this is what I am going to do:  I am going to list my favorite books - current books and favorite authors and link their info here.  They all deserve the love!!

Currently reading Ella Frank and her Temptation series.

Try (Temptation Series Book 1) - Kindle edition by Frank, Ella. Literature & Fiction Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com.

This is the second time I am reading this series.  I highly recommend it.  Great, sexy MM romance!

Summer

I am not quite the summer person even though I was born in the summer.  As a kid, the best thing was summer because you didn't have to go to school.  Never did like the heat, especially since we didn't have air conditioning.

And summer writing.  I am a notebook girl.  Writing in my notebook - I currently have 2 5 subject notebooks and a single notebook in the works.  I write in scenes as it comes to mind.

I was excited to see others on tik tok talking about writing in notebooks too.  It seems to be quite common.  It is a visual thing for me.  I like to see the words written long hand.  Thats how I started my first book.  I sat in the back yard, in the evening, and just wrote.  It felt good and it was quite successful for me to get the words written.

I thought of a great story a few weeks ago and I wrote a summary of it in one of my notebooks.  So very glad I did.  Because I don't remember what I wanted to do because two other stories in my head are running.  But when you write in the notebook, its there to refresh your creative mind.

Thought of another story - reverse harem - and I am working on the premise, but its a bit fuzzy.  But I will get it down and work on it until it clicks.  Thats what the creative mind is... right?

Enjoying my July, hope you all are too!

Summer

Summer is here, people.  And who wants to write?   I do!!  I am born at the right time.  I have air conditioning.  I love my ac!  coooooool ac.

But I am writing and the ideas keep coming.  Again, last night, I thought of another story.  I have to flesh out the details, but its going to be a reverse harem, I think, I plan?  She is super shy (which I can relate to) and the men are brash and forward.  I am getting bits and pieces of the story in my head.  Have to get them down into my story book with an outline so I don't forget.

My editor has my second book and he is working on that now.  I am looking forward to getting that one published.

Am re-reading one of my favorite series, Try, Take, Tate by Ella Frank.  the whole series is great.  Especially, Robbie, The Priest and the Prick!!  I have already read that series twice.

One of my most favorite books - Honors Splendor by Julie Garwood.  I have read that book over a dozen times.  Its irresistible to me.

My hope, one day, someone likes my stories enough to re read them.

Happy writing all!!  and enjoy your summer days!!

Writing

Got some good work done in the past few days.  I have worked on my 3rd and 4th books.  While I have a lot for the 3rd written down - more to come.  My 4th book, Vanessa and Tav is screaming to get out of my head.  So, it seems as if I am working on both of them, because that is what my brain wants.

I have one beta reader and she made a suggestion for my second book.  Something that I thought of at some random moment and then forgot to put in - making a connection between two key characters - that connection will relay the rift between them but the love of a mother - and I think that written letters from them back and forth will make that key connection.  See... as even when you think that you are done with a book and its off to editing... you still have more you can add to enhance the story.

Anyway, happy 4th of July everyone.  Wishing all of you happiness and health and a bang up job on the 4th!

New Year - 2025 Life really does pass on fast.  It is now 2025. A new year, new start, new ideas.  Have not been writing much, shame on me....
