Editors notes - 2nd book

 I have this really great editor.  John.  He edited a short story for me and then when I was almost done with my first book, I asked if he would edit that book for me.  He graciously said yes.  

He edited my first book and gave me some great suggestions.  I think we have a great collaboration relationship.  I loved his suggestions and I feel that they enhanced me as a writer and it was good for my story.  

I sent him the first edit of my second book and I just got his notes back the other day.  I can't wait to go through them and ponder his recommendations.  I have already though of a few instances of expanding on my story and adding more depth in parts where I think it's needed. 

John seems to get my writing style and he is very encouraging.  I do better with positive reinforcement than criticism.  Do other editors do this too?  How is the relationship between you and your editor?  

I have never met my editor and we correspond via email.  Have any of you met your editor?  John was very gracious with my first book and would not take any payment from me.  I donated what I was going to pay him to St Jude.  I always donate to St Jude.  I truly believe in them.  Anyway, I am going to convince John to take payment.  I truly appreciate my editors help with my books and my writing.  

Summer is almost over also.  It goes by so fast!  Looking froward to my cruise vacation.  Going to the Caribbean.  The only time that hubby and I drink, stay up late, gamble and go to the beach.  Imagine, I live on an island and never go to the beach!!   But, the truth is that I am a fair Irish girl and I can get a sunburn at the drop of a hat.  

I am also working on my 3rd and 4th book.  Almost at the same time.  I anticipate publishing them by end of year and into early next year.  I am very excited about these two stories.  And then, April and Daisy!  I am looking forward to their stories too!!  and then Ciara and Casandra.  Super excited about their story also!  I have started drafts of their stories.  And then my MMF romance.  It's going to be light hearted and super sweet and damned sexy!!  

So you can see, I have a lot of stories brewing in my head.  Getting them written one by one.

And its August

 Many moons ago, when I was a young'un.... 17 going on 18, my boss said to me... enjoy this now because before you know it you will be sitting at your desk and realize that 40 plus years have passed and your are 62.... 

I have the utter gall to say... awww Gus... you don't know what you are talking about.....

now I am close to that age and his words ring in my head. 

Life is going by too fast people.  I am starting a new career path with my writing.  Will it be successful? I have no clue.  But I really measure success by doing.  I have written one book, have my second book with the editor and am now working on the 3rd and 4th book, which I hope will be published by the end of the year into early next year.  

This phase of my life is about me.  I am at that time of my life that I can sit back and do as I wish.  and that is enlightening. and Freeing!!  

And now its August.  The dog days of summer.  We are having a pretty decent summer so far, but it is going by so freaking fast!!  Stop!!!  

Will be taking a little vacation soon and ... of all things.... I will miss my furkids!!  They are a constant joy.  They give me peace and love.  What more can one ask?  

And my writing..... so much fun... I thought of a great great sexy commentary between my two lovers... of a book that is just in my head as of yet..... 

him:  you have been teasing me all night, payment is due 

her:  I haven't been teasing you, I have been preping you. 

It is going to be a very sexy scene.  I should get it down in my notebook.
